My First Day at School

Hello! My name is Lily. Today was my first day at school, and it was so exciting! I woke up early in the morning with butterflies in my stomach. I put on my new uniform and checked my bag to make sure I had everything I needed: pencils, erasers, notebooks, and my lunchbox.

When I arrived at school, the teacher greeted me warmly. Her smile made me feel less nervous. The classroom was colorful and full of pictures and posters. There were desks arranged neatly, and each desk had a name tag. Mine said "Lily" in big letters.

The teacher introduced herself as Miss Green. She told us all about the rules and what we would learn this year. We also got to meet our classmates. Everyone seemed friendly, and I even found someone who lived near me. We talked about our favorite books and snacks during break time.

We started learning some basic English words like "hello," "goodbye," and "thank you." Miss Green taught us how to pronounce them clearly. It was fun to repeat after her and practice together. At one point, she asked me to stand up and say "hello" to everyone. I felt shy at first, but when I heard the class clapping for me, I smiled and felt proud.

For art class, we drew pictures of ourselves. I drew a picture of my family and wrote their names under each person. Miss Green hung all our drawings on the wall, and mine was right next to another student's artwork. That made me feel special.

At lunchtime, I ate my sandwich while sitting with my new friend. We shared stories about our weekends and laughed a lot. After lunch, we played games outside, like tag and hide-and-seek. It was such a great way to end the day!

As I walked home, I thought about how much fun I had today. Even though I missed my mom a little bit, I already love going to school. I can’t wait to see my friends and learn more tomorrow!
